Iranian short film ‘Solar Eclipse’ is slated to vie at the Show Me Shorts Film Festival in New Zealand.

Co-directed by Raha Amir-Fazli and Alireza Qasemi, the film will vie at the main competition section of the 16th edition of the festival.

The short film’s synopsis reads, “Just a short time before solar eclipse, Saqi’s life goes through changes”.

The cast list of the short flick includes Khorshid Cheraghipour, Paniz Esmaeeli, Anita Baqeri, Faraz Modiri, and Peyman Naeemi.

‘Solar Eclipse’ is a co-production of the Iranian company Sixth Side and the French company White Star. Moreover, Manifest Company is in charge of the international distribution of the short film.

The Show Me Shorts is an Academy Awards-accredited festival that showcases selected films nationwide.

The festival aims to create and cultivate the infrastructure required to achieve the widest possible appreciation of short films in New Zealand, and New Zealand short films internationally.

This year’s edition of the event is scheduled for October 1-21.
